The Society of American Registered Architects has presented its 1985 Distinguished Building Award to a group of buildings constructed in Balboa Park in San Diego for the 1915 Panama-California Exposition.
The award is presented annually to a building or group of buildings in the city where the society holds its national convention.
This year, nominations were solicited from residents of San Diego. A panel of judges then selected the structures along El Prado in the city’s Balboa Park as those most deserving of recognition. The 1927 headquarters building of San Diego Trust & Savings Bank received an honorable mention.
