U.S. Swimming Open Starts Today in Texas

The U.S. Swimming Open, sporting a new concept and an expanded field, will start today and continue through Sunday at the Texas Swim Center in Austin, Tex.
Swimmers will compete for clubs, colleges and nations simultaneously in a long-course meet during which world records may be set.
Swimmers from 17 nations have committed to the meet, among them the East German team that did not compete in the 1984 Olympic Games.
