HIGHLIGHTS: Oakwood led throughout the game, which was in the first round of the consolation bracket.... Freshman forward Mitchell Butler (O) sealed the game in the fourth quarter with a slam dunk.... The Gorillas scored 27 points in the final period to even their record at 1-1.... Pilgrim’s record dropped to 0-2.

HIGHLIGHTS: St. Genevieve opened an early lead, but tight defense by Oak Park forced numerous second-quarter turnovers by the Valiants.... St. Genevieve trailed by three points with 10 seconds left in the game, but could not force a turnover.

Chaminade 76,

HIGHLIGHTS: Chaminade jumped to an early 20-12 lead at the end of the first quarter.... Center Kevin Black (C) had a game-high 18 points.... Jerry Sicili ano (C) and Joe Chandler (C) added 11 points each for the Eagles.... Junior forward Steve Green (H) scored a team high 17 points.... Junior center Mike Lowe (H) added 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots.

HIGHLIGHTS: Westchester broke open a tight game in the third quarter by outscoring the Chargers,21-4, after leading by just three points at the half, 22-19. The Comets dominated the offensive boards and applied tough man-to-man defense.... Donnie Rea (A) had 12 points and six rebounds.... Brock Hoffman (A) had six points and two rebounds.... Todd Looney (A) had five points and six rebounds.

Simi Valley Tournament

HIGHLIGHTS: Senior forward John Perak, who had the last seven points of the game, hit a game-winning layup with 10 seconds left. The defensive standout was guard Fernando Escala, who had three steals late in the game that helped preserve the win. Perak and Alex Horosny both spent most of the third quarter and part of the final period on the bench with four fouls.

HIGHLIGHTS: Down, 26-24, at halftime, Bell-Jeff caught up in the third quarter on two free throws by Fernando Guana with 7:34 left. The Guards didn’t have much trouble after that, outscoring Paso Robles, 17-8, in the third quarter and again, 12-3, in the fourth quarter.

HIGHLIGHTS: Liberty Canyon Christian of Agoura could manage only 19 rebounds and committed 32 turnovers in its loss to Grace Academy of Panorama City. . . . Liberty Canyon led 14-10 going into the second quarter, but was outscored in each remaining quarter. . . . The Patriots sank only one of nine free throws, while Grace Academy shot 10 of 18. . . .
