ROME — Soviet dissident Yelena Bonner received her visa at the U.S. Embassy today and will fly to the United States on Saturday, an embassy spokesman said.
An official of Alitalia Airlines said Bonner is booked on a Saturday flight to New York, with a connecting flight to Boston, where she will be treated for a heart ailment as part of a three-month trip to the West for medical care. While at the embassy, she received a welcoming letter from Secretary of State George P. Shultz.
