Theroux, Evans Lead USD Past UC Irvine

SAN DIEGO — Debbie Theroux scored 20 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, and Julie Evans scored 16 points to lead the University of San Diego’s women’s basketball team to a 58-54 victory over UC Irvine Wednesday in a non-conference game at the USD Sports Center.
USD built a 34-20 halftime lead and then held on to win its third game of the season against two losses. UC Irvine is 2-1. The Anteaters were led by Natalie Crawford, who scored 21 points, and Nadia Burks, who scored 10 and had 9 rebounds.
USD will play host to San Francisco State Saturday night.
