The City Council has approved plans for three restaurants across from Gateway Plaza’s Holiday Inn on Firestone Boulevard. The restaurants will include Jeremiah’s, a steak-and-lobster eatery, Fuddruckers, a hamburger establishment, and Tequilla Willie’s, a Mexican food restaurant.
Lew Wolff, who developed the 300-room Holiday Inn, had proposed a conference center for the vacant 6.2 acres across from the hotel. But concerns about adequate parking for a conference center and the need for places to eat convinced the council to go with the restaurants. Newmark Associates of Van Nuys will develop the property.
