Thomas P. Carson, a tax partner in the Los Angeles office of the Arthur Andersen & Co. accounting firm, will become senior vice president-finance and chief financial officer of the newly formed United Artists Corp., Los Angeles.
Carson was a key adviser in the negotiations leading to the pending purchase of MGM/UA Entertainment by Ted Turner. UA is being spun off as a separate studio owned by Kirk Kerkorian.
