The July 5 episode of “Miami Vice” was the most insensitive piece of television programming I have ever seen. It showed a man cruelly and repeatedly beating his wife while “Stay With Me, I Love You” was played as background music. This not only seemed to condone violence against women but portrayed it as a seductive experience.
