State Honors Santa Monica Energy Program

The Santa Monica Energy Fitness Program, which offered residents free home energy audits and energy-saving devices, has received a state award for energy innovation. The program will be recommended to the U. S. Department of Energy to compete in the National Energy Awards Program.
In Santa Monica’s one-year program, which ended in May, more than 12,000 residents received free energy-saving devices. The program is one of 16 in the state to receive an award.
