El Toro Bicyclist Injured in Collision

A teen-age youth was in critical condition Wednesday at Mission Community Hospital after being struck by a car on Trabuco Road while bicycling south of Ridge Route Drive in El Toro on Tuesday night, the California Highway Patrol said.
Officials said Steven P. Lund, 14, of El Toro was struck about 10 p.m. by a southbound car going about 40 m.p.h. The youth’s bike veered from the sidewalk into the path of the car, and the driver could not avoid the collision, the CHP said.
The youth was treated at the scene by paramedics for head injuries and then transported to the hospital.
