Texas PR Executive to Assist First Lady

WASHINGTON — Nancy Reagan today announced the appointment of Linda Faulkner, a Dallas public relations executive, to succeed Gahl Hodges as White House social secretary.
Hodges, in charge of the office that handles White House social functions since April, 1983, is leaving because her husband, Assistant Secretary of State Richard R. Burt, has been nominated to be ambassador to West Germany.
