KUWAIT — Two explosions rocked Kuwait today, killing at least five people and wounding nine, the Kuwait news agency said. No further details were immediately available.
In late 1983 a series of bombs went off in Kuwait aimed at U.S. and other targets, and 17 Shia extremists were arrested for those attacks. Freedom for the 17 has been a demand of Shia militants in Lebanon who hold seven Americans captive.
