Ryder System Inc. Agrees to Acquire Truck Carrier

MIAMI — Ryder System Inc. said it has agreed to acquire Fleet Transportation Services Inc. of Pontiac, Mich. Terms were not disclosed.
Fleet Transportation is the parent of Fleet Carrier Corp. and Fleet Carrier Dealers Services Inc. Ryder said these companies, which will become part of Ryder’s automotive carrier division, transport new medium- and heavy-duty trucks principally for General Motors.
The proposed transaction is subject to the approval of the Interstate Commerce Commission.
