Customs Welcome

A tip of the hat to our much-maligned customs officers. Our return to Los Angeles from a recent European trip necessitated changing planes in New York. We dreaded the imagined lines at customs. Not so. Pleasant blazer-clad young women (volunteers) welcomed us home, directed us to baggage pickup and then to customs.
The officer welcomed us home, asked to see our passports and list of purchases. Within minutes we were ushered through the gate with plenty of time to make our connecting flight to Los Angeles. The courteous treatment was greatly appreciated.
