Incaviglia Says He’ll Break Off Negotiations With Expos

STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State outfielder Pete Incaviglia, the NCAA home run and RBI record holder and eighth choice in this year’s baseball draft, said Thursday he will break off negotiations with the Montreal Expos.
Incaviglia’s agent, Bucky Woy, accused the Expos management of inconsistent and unprofessional bargaining practices and said his client wants permission to talk with other major league teams.
Reached by telephone in Montreal, Development Director Jim Fanning denied bad-faith bargaining and said the team’s offer to Incaviglia is better than those already accepted by other drafted players.
Neither side would discuss details of the negotiations.
