Mother Holds Boy, Dies Under Train; Baby Hurt

NEW YORK — A woman who lay on railroad tracks with her baby in her arms was run over and killed by a train early Thursday, and her infant son was maimed, Transit Police said.
Sgt. James Duffy said that the woman, identified as Luz Delia Figueroa, 39, of Brooklyn, had not jumped or been pushed in front of the train. It was believed that she lay on the tracks to commit suicide, Duffy said.
