Nurse Gets Probation in Assault

Declaring that he has “grave doubts” about the victim’s testimony, a Los Angeles Municipal Court judge today placed on probation a male nurse who was convicted last year of sexually assaulting a quadriplegic patient who was in his care.
The city attorney’s office, which prosecuted the case, asked Judge Richard C. Hubbell to sentence registered nurse Richard Lee Jensen, 41, to 270 days in County Jail. But Hubbell said that Jensen, with the exception of the incident that resulted in his conviction, is “a man of unblemished character and record.”
