Center to Give Honor

The Central American Refugee Center (CARECEN) will honor Father Luis Olivares and the Queen of Angels Church on Olvera Street for their work on behalf of Central American refugees at a dinner at 7 p.m. on Friday at Friendship Auditorium in Griffith Park.
Speakers will include Ramona Ripston, executive director of the ACLU of Southern California; Dolores Huerta, vice president of the United Farm Workers Union; Lydia Lopez, United Neighborhoods Organization, and Father Mike Kennedy of Queen of Angeles Church.
