Auto Crashes Through Garage First : 3 Injured as Car Plunges Off Cliff

Three people were injured, two of them critically, when the car they were riding in crashed through a garage wall and plunged down an embankment in Corona del Mar Friday night.
William Nutt and his wife, Annette, were in critical condition in Mission Community Hospital in Mission Viejo, where they were taken by helicopter. Another passenger in the car, Elizabeth Johnson, of Newport Beach, was in guarded condition in Western Medical Center, Santa Ana.
Police said the 7:30 p.m. accident occured when Nutt backed out of the garage of his house, at 3235 Ocean Blvd., and then for unknown reasons, drove back inside and through the rear wall. The car went down the embankment and landed upside down.
Investigators said Nutt is expected to be charged with felony drunken driving.
