Mission Viejo 64, Laguna Hills 44--The Hawks took a 9-4 lead, but the Diablos warmed up to make 28 of 42 (66%) shots from the floor at Mission Viejo. Laguna Hills opened the second half with a full-court press, which Mission Viejo broke numerous times for layups.
Mike Minier had 17 points and 7 assists, and Scott Pedersen had 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead Mission Viejo (7-1, 18-4). Mike Garcia’s 15 points paced Laguna Hills (3-5, 11-10).
