Playing in its first baseball championship game, Palm Desert has come out swinging the bat aggressively and scored two runs in the first inning off Torrance in the Division 4 final.
Scott Burcham reached base on an error. After a fly out, Ryan Garvey doubled to right off pitcher Josh Mingura. A wild pitch scored Burcham. And a ground out scored Garvey.
Nick Baker will be on the mound for Palm Desert.
