Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse at Long Beach Poly ...

The Jackrabbits have lost three of their first four games. Their 79-game Moore League winning streak appears in serious jeopardy. And now sophomore quarterback Dylan Lagarde has transferred to Los Alamitos, according to the Long Beach Press-Telegram.

The Jackrabbits scored 49 points in their first four games with Lagarde splitting time with senior Chris Leachman and sophomore Chaiyse Hales. Leachman was selected as the starter for Poly’s Moore League opener tonight against Long Beach Jordan, prompting speculation that it led to Lagarde’s departure.

‘We had already made a decision Monday we were going with Chris Leachman,’ Poly Coach Raul Lara told the Press-Telegram. ‘That might have been the reason. I wish the kid luck and I hope they made the right decision.’

It is unknown whether Lagarde will have immediate eligibility at Los Alamitos.
