Robert Rodriguez, a 14-year-old Latino boy, was shot and killed on Friday, Oct. 23, in the 15400 block of Vanowen Street in Van Nuys, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s officials.
Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner’s office, said Rodriguez was standing outside an apartment when he was approached by someone and shot. Winter said the assailant could be affiliated with a gang.
Rodriguez was shot about 3:50 p.m. and pronounced dead at the scene at 4 p.m., Winter said.
