No Chamber of Commerce prattle, please, but let’s face it: Today is tailor-made for a playoff baseball game at Dodger Stadium.
As the Angels and Yankees deal with steady rain and chilly conditions in New York for the American League Championship Series, the Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies are set to play Game 2 of the National League Championship Series on a clear, unusually warm day at Chavez Ravine.
The temperature at Dodger Stadium already had reached 90 degrees one hour before the game’s scheduled start of 1 p.m. -- more than 10 degrees hotter than normal for mid-October in downtown Los Angeles.
