TCA Press Tour: ABC renews ‘Cougar Town,’ ‘The Middle’ and ‘Modern Family’ for second seasons

ABC has ordered up a second helping of its hit Wednesday night comedy block.

The network announced this morning it would bring back ‘Cougar Town,’ ‘The Middle’ and ‘Modern Family’ for a second season.

In other news, still no word on whether the one-time special ‘Conveyor Belt of Love’ will be back as a series.

‘How could we be done with such a genius show?’ ABC Entertainment Group President Steve McPherson joked. ‘I am offended by that.’

All kidding aside, he said, ‘It did well for us, it was a lot of fun.’ But as to its future? ‘I don’t know ... we’ll see.’
