We love Lady Gaga here at the Ministry, but must admit the latest confection from Katy Perry, “California Gurls,” is so much more delicious than “Alejandro,” with its “A Scanner Darkly” vibe.
The full clip for Perry’s summer track, featuring Snoop Dogg, hit the Web on Tuesday. It boasts a Candy Land theme that would make Willy Wonka blush.
From Gummi Bears flipping the bird to cotton candy panties, director Mathew Cullen has plenty of surprises packed in his sweet tooth. Don’t miss the creatively packaged backup dancers (the jello reveal is our fave), an amazing tube dress and pumps made out of candy dots.
And as for that Lady Gaga and Katy Perry tiff we told you about last week -- Perry has backtracked a wee bit.
Russell Brand‘s fiancee insists that it was “more of a non-specific, general thing” when she tweeted a blanket statement that blasphemous imagery was like a comedian “telling a fart joke” for cheap laughs. That as opposed to a direct dig at Gaga’s choices in the “Alejandro” video.
What do you think of Katy’s comments on Gaga? And her video for “California Gurls”?
